Chanterelles with oven roasted potatoes
To tell the truth, this dish last year ate even my hubby! And agreed that it not only looks great, but taste the same way too. To bake potatoes in the oven takes time, so sometimes I change them with boiled potatoes. However, if you are not in hurry, you should really try to bake them in the oven. It is more tasty that way.

I do not know how it is in your family, but in mine quinoa didn’t find its way to our stomach. On the other hand, I should say, until now. Because no recipes that I have tried before were enjoyed, and this smoothie was gone quicker than I said “It’s with quinoa”. Usually I make granola in summer, when it’s hot outside and no one wants to eat porridge. But when last week I tried new recipe for granola bars and I had only crumbs, my kids ate it just like usual granola for breakfast. And then they asked to make more granola. So I make my favourite at this moment granola. Kids’ favourite granola will have to wait a little bit. They enjoy this granola too, just for them I had to add chocolate with more sugar.

When outside is so hot that no one wants to cook, but you get hungry anyway. Thus, in the late evening, when the weather began to cool down at least a little bit, we heated our hand-made grill and cooked burgers. Meat preparation is described below, and then all is left – to make your burgers to your taste and preferences. We used rolls, lettuce, tomato slices, several kinds of sauces and of course cheese. Burgers turned out incredibly tasty, perhaps because of the cheese, maybe because of grilled rolls, or maybe just because we did them at home after a very long break. They tasted even better than those bought for sure.

In my archive I didn’t find the recipe that I could follow, so I fantasized a little bit and make bake with cottage cheese and zucchini. My family enjoyed it a lot. Dessert came out really good. Someone put fruit salsa on cinnamon chips, someone ate fruit salsa with teaspoon next to the cinnamon chips. Kids ate all leftovers and looked for more cinnamon chips, but unfortunately… they were all gone.

Maybe this is the last recipe with currants this year. This time with white currants, because I just love them. I decided to use them in this cake, although you can use black or red currants. First time I did everything by the recipe – and currant seeds were annoying. Second time boiled currants I strained through the mesh – but then cream wasn’t so refreshing. So the next time I will go the easy way and leave seeds 🙂

This year I try to make something new out of currant because last year I had no time for them. And the first try – a pie with black currants. I took it to my work and my colleagues enjoyed it a lot. So after a few days I baked it again to my hubby because I knew he will love it too. I wasn’t wrong 🙂 So believe me – this pie with a creamy black currant cream is really worth your time!

This simple salads are from kids recipe book (only one of a huge amount). But they really suitable for parents, just double or triple the quantities. If your little one is like mine and doesn’t like salad leaves, cut them in small chunks – it worked for my kid and he ate and didn’t noticed them.

We love chicken, but it’s very hard to find good chicken marinade to bake it on the grill. And know I know that it’s not the fault of the recipes, it’s because we a lot of time overbake it. The last time we baked chicken on the grill I was walking around the grill and watched that no one overbaked it 🙂 I looked strange, but… what can we do if we want to taste food good 🙂

This salads were prepared by my kids 🙂 And it’s simple but really goods. Tomatoes and cucumber gives freshness, and potatoes – satiety. My kids ate without onions, because they were the chefs 🙂 But for adults I recommend to add onion springs.

This cake is really simple. Only the base is very crumbly. Next time I will add a little bit more butter. But… maybe it”s because I used not oat cookies but shortbread cookies. My hubbe even frightened me – took one bite and moved plate toward me… The first thought – he didn”t like it. BUT I was very happy when he asked to put MORE! 🙂

Refreshing and easy dessert with the last strawberries. To say the truth, I prepared double portion so I had to use wild strawberries too in companion with strawberries. Definitely I will prepare this dessert with other berries or fruits. This recipe is from my children recipe archive. So if you add mild and sweet fruit, you can surely sweeten kids stomach. Just I really recommend to chill before serving – because then cream becomes stronger.

It was real experiment 🙂 Till now we didn’t try salads with cheese. And the dressing is with raw egg. To feel more save, I poured over an egg boiling water and took it out only after a few seconds. Then when I poured prepared dressing over salads it looked too much of it, but when we mixed everything it was really good. So if you like garlic and new flavours – try this 🙂

At first when I saw this combination it looked a little bit weird. But then I thought that we all like cauliflowers, cottage cheese and cheese separately, so why not to try it all in one dish. My hubby was very happy 🙂 He ate really a lot. Children also evaluated this dish very good.

One day I had a strong feeling that I just have to bake something for my co-workers. So I told my hubby that he has to look after our children till they get asleep and went to the kitchen. We tasted this coffee cake the next day. And it tasted very good, so until lunch the coffee cake was gone.

I’m very excited when the recipe which I chose to prepare is admitted 110 percents. I wanted to make these crepes all week long, but all week I had no time to spend in the kitchen. And only this weekend the time has come 🙂 I’m very glad that I made only half portion because if there were more than four crepes I couldn’t stop eating. The filling is so light, with the gentle taste of broccoli and very nice taste of cheese. My hubby said he wasn’t hungry but ate one crepe and was very excited 🙂 The next time I will not make our usual crepes with cheese filling, but give a little bit more time and make these crepes.

I bookmarked this recipe long ago. And this week everyday after work I thought to bake it, but… This weekend I said “now or never” and I’m happy to say that it was “now”. I baked it from half portion and made a mistake. When my hubby tasted it he said “I my God, you’ll have to bake it again”. The little one was crying near the empty plate pleasing for more 🙁 Good to know that I still have some cherries in the freezer, so they won’t have to wait very long 🙂

One more cake with zucchini. Really great and moist. I didn”t have chocolate chips, but I didn”t miss them in the cake. Maybe with these chips the cake would be more delicious, but also more sinful 🙂

Very delicious cake and zucchini just gives a lot of moistness. I baked it five times this summer and every day it disappeared very quickly. At last I left some cake for photography and next day when I had a little bit free time I made some photos. By the way, the cake had a lot of moistness even after a few days.

I was always interested in how children make lemonade that I saw in the old american movies. So I was very eager to try to make it by myself. And we still have some berries in our garden, so I made this lemonade. The result was very refreshing. Just it was too strong for us, so when we watered-down in half-and-half we got very light dring with a mild taste of lemon and black currants.
